Finca Velvaere is an authentic Dutch country estate set on 7,000 square meters of private land and serves as the home base of House of Velvaere. More than just a retreat for entrepreneurs, it’s a place for meaningful conversations and key decisions. We believe in balancing ambitious work with a deep sense of belonging, which is why we warmly welcome entrepreneurs and individuals living abroad seeking a home during their stay. This includes their C-level teams and families, recognizing that true harmony encompasses all aspects of life. Since we, Mark and Yvette, live on the property with our children, we are always available to help while respecting our guests' privacy.
The name “Velvaere” comes from the Scandinavian word for “well-being,” reflecting the comfort and harmony you’ll find here.
Surrounded by beautiful natural views and embraced by a cozy interior filled with premium materials, you’ll immediately feel at ease. This is a space where tranquility meets inspiration, creating a sense of belonging for everyone.

Ik heb genoten van een heerlijk verblijf. Het Backhuys is zeer sfeervol en Yvette en Mark hebben mij hartelijk verwelkomd in hun charmante vakantiehuis, omgeven door de prachtige natuur. Ik heb volledig kunnen ontspannen in deze rustieke, luxe vakantiewoning met moderne voorzieningen. In combinatie met de vele wandel- en fietsroutes in de omgeving het perfecte toevluchtsoord om te werken en ontspannen!

The accommodation and the hostess were wonderful. Yvette answered every question and is always helpful if you need anything or want tips about the area. The house, the apartment, and the property are very well-maintained, making you feel at home. The green spaces invite you to enjoy coffee on the terrace. If you prefer a lovely place to stay, this is the right choice. I would love to come back! :-)
